Water Barometer Weather Station

Water Barometer Weather Station

Our newest water barometer (Item# WA1262) is destined to become a favorite. While it includes a graceful weather glass, this unit also features a thermometer/hygrometer at the top of the unit to add that extra bit of function. It features a mahogany stained hardwood base and a glass dropcatcher to collect any dribbles from those very low pressure days. Measures 17 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 4 1/2".

Wall Mounted Weatherglass

Wall Mounted Weatherglass

During the Renaissance, scientists discovered the principle that weather was influenced by air pressure. Our handblown weatherglass (above left) is a true replica of early 16th and 17th century domestic barometers. It functions as well as it did centuries ago, unfailingly indicating changes in atmospheric pressure. Fill with colored water and check the weather by looking at the level of liquid in the spout. A high water level in the spout indicates an approaching storm, while a low level means nice, fair weather. Comes with a Brass dropcatcher to catch fallout of extremely heavy weather fronts, such as a severe thunderstorm. Mounts easily to any wall Size: 12 1/2" long and 4" deep.

The Rockport Tide Clock/Barometer

The Rockport Tide Clock/Barometer

For those areas with two discernable high and low tides per day (primarily the east coast), this attractive weather station features everything you need to plan your trip on the ocean. The barometer will help forecast the conditions for the next 12-24 hours by displaying the pressure in inches of mercury (inHg), millibars(mb), and traditional nomenclature (Fair, Change, Stormy, Dry). A handy thermometer will keep you informed of the current indoor temperature. The tide clock indicates the tides of the ocean, high and low, twice every 24 hours and fifty minutes. Available in solid oak (shown) or stained mahogany, the unit can be hung vertically or horizontally. Measures 11 1/2" x 7".
